Dealing with stress during career advancement. -Part 1 of 2-

Stress is a sign that your career is advancing. Getting additional responsibilities means that you are trusted more by your boss, right? But don't get us wrong, we're not saying that stress is a good thing nor are we suggesting you to seek stress, if you're free from it as of speaking, in order to instigate career advancement. We're just recognizing the silver lining of this dark cloud situation.

Yes, we still consider stress as a dark cloud. Ironic it may be, but stress is a unique sign of career advancement -- you're not supposed to do things to prolong its effects on you. Instead get rid of them in order to continue advancing. Put it along these lines: everyone looks forward to college graduation, right? But it's a sign that you need to be more mature in your actions from that point on. Think of stress in relation to your growing career in that essence; just make the consequences of inaction more serious.

A dirty desk is one source of stress. It's impossible to work properly in a desk that speaks of chaos. Schedule a major clean-up, the next time you’re free from major tasks or meetings. We prefer a desk free from any unnecessary item. Get rid of those unneeded papers. And, if they eat space, remove some of your displays. We recommend you to read "Detox Your Desk by Theo Theobald & Cary Coop. You can read about the book at http://sg.jobsdb.com/SG/EN/Resources/JobSeekerArticle/career-coaching-on-effect?ID=45

We'll leave you with that challenge for now. But please stay tuned for part 2 because we'll discuss stress in relation to work life balance.
