Friday updates.

Originally, the plan was to make another update on Singapore jobs. Why the change? It seems that everybody's busy with the upcoming GE and we haven't found industry news to share. Anyway, it's not that today's going to be boring and we're just going to waste time.

Don't believe us? We present to you the itinerary: explanation behind the multitasking issue that we left hanging yesterday, some learning and development updates from Career Events and LearningDB.com, and the latest contest from our editors. Thus, you SHOULD still take notes.

So... multitasking, yes?

In some cases, being able to do two or three things can be good, but this can also give you an "ineffective" brand when it comes to finishing tasks. Maybe it will drive the point better if we say that multitasking is not an act of time management? Loss of focus is the price to pay in multitasking. Quality over quantity -- there's little exception to this rule. It's much better to do things slowly but surely to prevent making unnecessary mistakes. Allow us to share a bit of knowledge from Dr. Donald Wetmore, a quote we’ve found in his Top 5 Time Management Mistakes article that can also be read on Career Advice. "Time Management is not doing the wrong things quicker. That just gets us nowhere faster. Time Management is doing the right things."
