What makes a job perfect? For most people, three things:
Good pay.
It makes one respectable.
It makes others happy.
Aside from being a doctor, many people believe that being a lawyer also means having a perfect job. We've interviewed Yoriko Lim, a Singaporean LLB Honours (Law) student at the University of Leeds in England recently. She have shared with JobsDB.com Singapore what it's like studying Legal & Compliance theories and studying overseas. Lawyers-to-be and those planning to study overseas someday will pick a lot of useful points from this interview.
What does Yoriko enjoy the most about studying law? The theories and how they are applied to various industries, she have told us. "There are a variety of law modules which make students think a lot and understand how they are applied in various industries, such as intellectual property law, company Law...etc. Few of my favourite modules include Criminal Law and Company Law."
What's her advice to those planning to study overseas someday? Homesickness is the thing to expect, she have told us. "In the midst of achieving more freedom, you will miss your family and friends from your hometown. I would say the most difficult point of life while studying overseas is the process of being independent."
