Successful job hunting. (part 1 of 2)

It's a matter of using expert advice to make 'You' work for employers.

Resume writing is all about following the rule book, just like the key to acing job interviews is listening to experts advice; so you'd think excelling in the premise of job hunting meant acting all robotic and setting aside 'You'. A classic question we've wanted to answer for so long: Do I have no other choice but to stab myself with a double edged sword in order to emerge victorious in a quest for job? The short answer would be not really.

Following those that have been written and tested is essential, but may we reinstate the fact that job hunting is all about selling yourself. Don't solely orbit your pursuits around what's being dictated nor do everything as you please. Go in the middle. It's a matter of using expert advice to make 'You' work for employers.

If we were to make a list of things which would not, under any circumstances, be appropriate to job hunting, "not marketing yourself properly" would be somewhere near the top of it, right next to "doing it alone". But what is proper marketing in terms of job hunting, anyway?

In the marketing realm, to sell a product means to highlight that product's strengths and brandish those things about it that set it positively apart to its competitors. Job hunting is like that, only a bit more challenging, as you're up against not just two or three but thousands of competitions. Although, this is not to say that consumerism and job hunting are synonymous concepts. There are many striking similarities on the way things work for these two concepts, but here's the deal: in consumerism you're expected to be unexpected, which is by no means the case in job hunting. The principle of being unexpected in the former involves the use of creative words and the drawing of colorful ads to achieve a product that fits the trope, 'the physically striking the better'. In job hunting, things are much more internal.

How so? We'll discuss tomorrow. So stay tuned. In the meantime, we want you to study these career resources:
